Salt & Vine is a restaurant that is certainly slept on in Nashville... I never hear anyone talking about it, and I have no idea why. I ate here once a little over a year ago, and remember really enjoying it, and hadn't been back since. After last night's dinner, I'm just mad at myself for not being back quicker! The dinner was exceptional from start to finish! Inside, the space is very sleek and minimalistic, and a very inviting place to eat. There are both small and large tables, as well as a private tasting room - they could easily accommodate larger parties. Our server was great! She was super friendly and sweet, and was working hard throughout the night. She quickly understood we wanted to slowly order our dishes and pace our meal, and didn't rush us at all. We started off with a bottle of wine to share. We had the Carmenere/Syrah/Malbec blend, which they told us was very popular at the moment. At only $35 for the bottle, we were delighted with how well it drank! While the menu may seem small upon first glance, just about every dish tickled my fancy! The dishes are meant to share, and everything we ate was unique, fresh, and executed perfectly. DAILY MARKET BOARD (Small) // We started our meal off with a cheese board! The board came with thinly sliced prosciutto, a mild cheese with a black pepper rind, a smoked gouda, housemade merlot jam, whole grain mustard, local honey, and chewy bread slices. Both of the cheese were addictive, and the merlot jam was an interesting accoutrement that was flavorful and paired well with the cheeses (and wine!). COCONUT SHRIMP CEVICHE // This ceviche was so bright and refreshing. The shrimp ceviche was made with coconut and an asian pear salsa. It's served with gluten-free lotus root chips on the side. The chips are delicate, and let the flavors of the ceviche do the talking, while adding a light crunchy textural component. However, the ceviche is so good you'll probably end up eating it with just a fork like we did! BURRATA / Because there's never enough cheese at a meal, we ordered this even after eating a cheese board, and you shouldn't be ashamed to either. The creamy burrata is served alongside a fresh melon salad + bread, and everything is drizzled with a mint oil! The melon salad is topped with crispy hazelnuts for texture, and I was scooping this up (I don't even like melons!). The bread slices were toasted ever so slightly, with a crisp exterior, and a chewy interior, and they too were drizzled with the mint oil. The addition of mint and melon to this cheese dish helped lighten it up and it was a fresh new take on this dish! CRISPY CHICKEN THIGHS // Another, dare I say it, bright dish! For a plate meant to share, this is bigger than what I would have expected, and was a perfect "entree" style meal! Two chicken thighs are served atop a mix of fresh vegetables and topped with arugula. The chicken thighs have crispy skin on the outside, but are so juicy and tender on the inside that you don't even need a knife. They fall right off the bone upon first touch. The medley of vegetables includes crispy snap peas, artichoke hearts, barely roasted cherry tomatoes that burst in your mouth, and gorgeous thinly sliced purple potato! This dish isn't too heavy, and is perfect for the upcoming spring weather. Some of the best chicken!! STRAWBERRY LEMON TART // Although we were full, we couldn't refrain from ordering dessert - all of the options looked great. To keep with the "fresh" theme, we opted for this fruity dessert. The tart has a crispy and chewy base, and is topped with a lemony, creamy meringue. This dish tasted just like summer (strawberry lemonade, anyone?), and was a refreshing (I know I'm getting repetitive, but it's true!) way to end the meal. Salt & Vine is definitely a place I will be back to. It's perfect for a date night, or a group dinner with friends. And I know this is so random, but we decided it's the perfect spot for a son to take his visiting mother. Don't let the small menu fool you, and let the food do the talking!

Great place to grab a glass of wine. It has a market like feel, like Marche. It's not cozy, it's fresh. The space is open with lots of white. There is a communal table and private seating in the back. So I love this place because I like wine and Nashville is severely lacking in the wine bar game. It's one of the things I miss most about SF. They let me sample a few before I settled on a sparkling rose. If you like the glass, you can always grab a bottle at their store next door. What I also love about Salt & Vine is their curry chicken salad. I've been eating my way through Nashville's chicken salads and this is one of the best. Lots of flavor! My only complaint is that I wish the chicken was pulled and not cubed. C'est la vie! If you like wine, this is the place for you. If you also like wine, you know it's not cheap. This place is not any different. PS. You can grab wine at their store and bring it into Champagne Nails next door. I picked up a delicious can of rose!

Swankity swank swank. Starting with the cons - do not expect the friendliest of servers who welcome you with warmth and smiles. Perhaps they're trying to maintain a chic and aloof demeanor, but it can definitely come across as pretentious and rude. Many of the workers also hang around the restaurant and appear to chat amongst themselves in and out of the bar seating area. This creates a bit of an awkward vibe between workers and guests, but I'll give our one bartender credit for being consistently attentive and kind throughout our meal. The interior's decor and ambience really make the place what it is. Definitely a feminine nature - I think I saw 20 women and 2 men while I was there. The happy hour specials are totally worth exploring, especially with the half off wine and half off small plates! As expected, the presentation is top notch and photoworthy. The taste was surprisingly great for everything we ordered. If you love olives, GET THE OLIVES. The green curry mussels were also fantastic and chompin on the curry broth soaked bread was just glorious. There appears to be a lot of mixed reviews about the mussels, but I honestly enjoyed them and would get them again. To sum up: pretty environment, tasty foods, and wide array of wines. Will be coming back!

I went to Salt & Vine one day on a whim with a friend and we can't stop going back. The decor/atmosphere is beautiful, the wine is delicious and they have excellent market boards at reasonable prices. Does it get any better than that? yes. It does. They have happy hour on the weekdays from 4-6 where a house red, white, sparkling and rose are all $6 a glass and the "snacks" are half price. We ordered wine, a small market board, the sliders and the street corn to split and we were FULL. The staff is accommodating, the decor is amazing and the food is fantastic. I will continue returning to Salt & Vine for the rest of forever. The wine shop next door is a huge plus because you can grab a bottle and head home to keep the party going. You can also purchase a bottle at the wine shop and bring it inside Salt & Vine for a $10 cork fee. $20 cork fee to bring in an outside bottle. Parking: There is free street parking and a quite a few lots for the other establishments in the complex.

I've been to Salt & Vine on several occasions. They even hosted a private pop-up dinner with Angelhouse Family Dinner for a 7 course Chinese comfort dinner that offered an excellent wine pairing to a SOLD OUT crowd. I love their curry chicken salad for lunch! It comes with yogurt, apple, almonds, and golden raisins. I usually order that with some fresh bread. Yum! The lamb meatballs were amazing too! I think this is a great place for a date or a group of 4-6. You can grab some bottles of wine, tapas, and chit chat. It's a beautiful space.

Dinner on Monday...1/2 price bottles of wine....yay us! Started with the radish toast...best thing ever! and I'm not the biggest radish fan, but that cheese on there was excellent! Shared a brussel sprouts salad with hazelnuts, very good. Entrees were Lamb Meatballs with couscous, and grilled carrots, very good. Chicken Thighs with wild mushroom farro and arugula, also very good. Would definitely come back!

Dropped in for lunch the other day between meetings. WOW this place is outstanding. I read about them in Food & Wine, and kept seeing them on my drive to work. So happy I stopped in. The customer service is great! Wish I had their names but the two guys working the counter provided great suggestions and were really nice. I had their veggie sandwich, which was outstanding. It was like a sophisticated grilled cheese - veggies and goat chesse on yummy bread. Also had a side of some barley salad, I don't know what was in it BUT it was delicious! It is a bit pricey however worth it. Definitely going back to after work for wine and cheese. They offered great wine and cheese night products too! Plus free WiFi & they are open for coffee!

Came here for girls night for dinner before going to see Carrie Underwood. We actually got the idea from her Instagram so we thought it was fitting to try it out! We got their during happy hour and got their HH red wine. It was decent, but I opted for a richer red for my second glass. They have a good selection of wine, beer, & cocktails. Started off with radish Toast and omg! So delicious! It's tapas style so we ordered 2 entrees, the trout and the chicken. Both delicious, but I think the trout was better! For dessert we got the chocolate assortment board. Everything on that board was fantastic. Prices are reasonable. I would so come back to this place for dinner, drinks, or even just dessert!
